Holiday Wrap Up

I'm behind on posting what happened for Martinmas and Thanksgiving so...it was REALLY windy on Marinmas and I made the executive decision to only go around our backyard.  The kids still had colds and our immediate (aka the mowed part) of our backyard is...wait for it...about an acre so we tootled around.  I could barely keep the candles lit but ah well....The kids had a great time!  We sang "The light is dwindling" song a bunch of times then ran in to get warmed up.

Thanksgiving was nice and quiet.  Farmer B.T. invited a guy from work who has recently had a stroke to dinner and I think he had a nice time...albeit I doubt he knew he'd be watching "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving"  hehehehe.   We don't watch much TV and I certainly don't appreciate the amount of griping that goes on in Charlie Brown...but  I grew up with it and so did Farmer B.T.

I have started doing Waldorf Essentials' Thinking Feeling Willing and I'm surprised how much I'm getting out of it.  I've been on the Waldorf journey on and off for about 7 years now but this has been a great refresher and pump up for staying on track.  It feels really good to be back to the beauty of Waldorf.  I always find myself going to Waldorf in the fall & holiday season...then...well...we usually go to Charlotte Mason for spring and then by summer it's Unit Studies/Unschooling but I think I've finally found a way to put a rhythm to our day that combines many things that we love.

We also have been combining Oak Meadow and Waldorf Essentials Grade One & Kindy.  Sometime when I have time I will post how I do that in case anyone is interested.

Here's the pics from the last 3 weeks:
