Seven Times 'Round The Sun
Unbelievable....people tell you that you're kids will grow up fast and to enjoy it but you think that's for someone else...
my Rocket Dog is 7
The morning started with me telling my big boy that my mom had given him (us really) passes for the whole year to the zoo. He was ready to leave at 7AM...me...not so much. After that we had a weird start to our morning because of my van being stolen last week, we "thought" that the only bad thing was we had to change our bank account...wrong. They managed to get my debit card so I spent the morning on my big boys birthday at the bank. nice. After a REALLY long morning at 1:30 we finally started off to the zoo. It was a warm winter day here...60! What a great time we had. At the Penguins my little one got splashed and IMMEDIATELY wanted to leave. I got the whole thing on video which is really cool and honestly, pretty funny.
Since it was so late, they were bringing all the animals into their nighttime enclosures (because it snows here) and we got a chance to see a giraffe so close that we could have touched it! I asked if Rocket Dog could feed it and the handler said "no", not that I thought there was a chance but...she did say I'll feed her right in front of you. She proceeded to feed the giraffe and explain all kinds of things about them. IT WAS FANTASTIC! Of course I didn't manage a pic of that :(
I made stars this week as part of our Waldorf Essentials Kindy curriculum too. I love these...

We got home and then gave my son his other presents which was a picnic table my husband made that can be broken down and carried like a suitcase...SO COOL!
and then the garden wagon my son had his eye on for a while...it has a 1000 lb capacity....bet he can manage that!
I had knit bean bags and the kids made a "hopscotch" game which was really cool.
As part of the Waldorf Essentials Kindy program the gnomes go on their winter spiral walk...so did ours :)

We've also been ready The Christmas Porringer which the kids and hubby have been loving as well as doing our advent calendar and The Christmas Rose. It's been a great week!
